While the Emmy nominations are still a month away, the Television Critics Association (TCA) is starting television awards season on a promising note. The organization released the nominees for its landmark 40th annual TCA Awards, giving slight insight into what to expect at the Emmys in September, and it looks like the FX versus Netflix battle is in full swing. All in all, they tie at 16 nominations each, with HBO/Max trailing behind at 13.

This year nods go heavily to Ripley and the surprise hit Baby Reindeer, as well as Shōgun and The Bear. Hey, they’re all well-deserved. The TCA nominations tend to favor underrated gems that the Academy ignores, so there’s love for excellent performers like Renée Elise Goldsberry and Devery Jacobs and programs like We Are Lady Parts and The Sympathizer.

The winners will be declared at an in-person ceremony on July 12, but here’s the full list of the 2024 TCA Awards nominations:
