“48 shows to put on your radar” is a ridiculous premise; “here’s every show and you might like one” is more accurate. I will remember 2 or 3 out of a list of 48.

What’s hilarious is that there’s only 28, and there’s not even 28, there’s like 26 with filler slides, and also the typo is repeated in like five places, including your comment.

Did donal glover show up out of shape to his SPY MOVIE SHOOT? Probably not a good idea. Jason Statham is spinning in his grave at how he looks in that white turtleneck.

I think turtlenecks are a tough thing to pull off.  That’s a lot of fabric, all one color, all very clingy.

Im starting to suspect that as a means of avoiding his extreme recognizability (see Sean Astin’s career post-Samwise) Robert Downey Jr. plans on layering himself in makeup going forward in his career. And I am okay with this.

Still can hardly believe that’s Robert Downey Jr. in the header pic.If they ever make a Simon and Garfunkle biopic, they gotta call him.

      • cogentcomment-av says:

Yep, I too did a double take on that going ‘There’s no way Garfunkel looks that good nowadays’ before realizing who it actually was.Impressive.

  • simplepoopshoe-av says:

Half of these are so far off there isn’t press photos or release dates and the trailer linked to the “Franchise” slide isn’t even the correct YouTube link. This is sloppy af.

Orphan Black: Echoes was already released in Australia a few months ago so it’s out there if you know where to look.

One show I don’t see mentioned or hear much about is The Dragon Prince on Netflix. It’s next season comes out this summer. If you’re a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender you might like this show. It was created by the head writer from Airbender, and carries on and expands upon some of the themes that show explored. In comparison to Avatar it’s more European high fantasy than Anime influenced. I will say I enjoy the story arc of the the first three seasons better than the more recent two, but it’s still good. I love watching it with my son.

    Bring on The Regime!

There’s a lot of interesting stuff on this list, but Andrew Scott as Tom Ripley is just too beautiful an idea to truly contemplate.

    • dave426-av says:

At first I was like, “Bold choice; the Damon adaptation was so good,” before realizing that was… a quarter-century ago? Fuuuck me. Hopefully it’s good/successful and they’ll do seasons of some of the other books as well.

    • planehugger1-av says:

I’m surprised they seem to be adapting, at least at first, The Talented Mr. Ripley. That story really seems to hinge on the characters being young. Scott’s playing the Matt Damon role, and he’s 47, only a few years younger than Damon is right now. It’s like they were casting, said, “We really need an Andrew Scott-type, but younger,” and then just cast Scott.

Andrew Scott is the main reason I’m interested. Hope the script is worthy of him.

Really looking forward to Apples Never Fall. Need more Alison Brie on my TV screen

  • valhalla-av says:

Has the 9-part DARK MATTER been taken off of Apple TV+’s schedule? This is a project that I’m more excited about than the next DUNE.

  • thirdreel-av says:

Re: Avatar the Last Airbender: Ken Leung wasn’t on Community. You’re thinking of Ken Jeong. Leung was on Lost, and he’s the one in Avatar.

  • gayfocker-av says:

It would be nice to have these recommendations in one long list we can print out.

Burying the lede there with Interview with the Vampire and Poker Face season 2.
Other than that, The Boys should be good. Hopefully Ripley too. Maybe Avatar: TLA.
Rings of Power only for more Bear McCreary music. The rest, meh. Probably keep an eye out for any new Marvel or Star Wars shows out of obligation.
