American Horror Story experiences the terror of script pages being stolen

American Horror Story: Freak Show has just experienced its most terrifying nightmare yet: the unspeakable demon known as petty theft. The theft occurred on set in New Orleans, when an actor accidentally left some pages behind after reading a script. (No word yet on which actor, but let’s just go ahead and assume it’s upcoming guest star Neil Patrick Harris, because that seems fun.) One of those pages is now being offered—for a spooktacularly low price—to a variety of media outlets.

20th Century Fox released a statement to TMZ, in which it sees this horrifying petty theft, and raises it the haunting specter of legal action: “The theft and unauthorized distribution of our scripts is a very serious matter and we will take all appropriate steps necessary to vigorously protect our intellectual property.” We can now all look forward to the monstrous next season, American Horror Story: Financial Affidavit.

The stolen page apparently relates to our previously reported story that all of the seasons of American Horror Story are connected. In this case, the script involves a key scene explaining how recurring character Pepper ends up moving on from the freak show to land at Briarcliff Manor, the asylum setting of season two. Any news on the crime should definitely be reported via a florid, anachronistic musical performance involving Jessica Lange losing her shit.
