I know these days it’s somewhat dangerous to presume, but I’m pretty sure the narrator isn’t Peter. What was Peter’s contribution to this? Did he write the script? And does the narrator really deserve no credit even if she was just reading a script written by someone else?

This is a solid point. The narrator is Mary Anne Yap and she’s great! I went ahead and switched the video out with a version that credits her. As for my contribution to this video, I wrote the script, I selected the clips, and I recorded the voice over. For what it’s worth, I hope you enjoyed the video.

Thanks for this thought-provoking look at 2 iconic films and what it means to be human. I find it particularly timely at a point in history where we are encouraged (or legislated) to function remotely due to the pandemic. Our own humanity feels limited and our social interactions become even more precious. It evokes Leon’s yearning for his family, and his clutching to his precious photos. He may be more human than we were initially prepared to credit him.
