This and the fact that Mattel later turned around as if they didn’t and used it anyway to advertise their Barbie Dolls. Its a shame that the writers/creators of the song couldn’t work out a mutually ($$) beneficial deal. Like maybe its inclusion in the movie during a joyride and by extension in the credits/on the movie’s soundtrack.

The director is making a Barbie movie so clearly that isn’t the case
Never mind, I read the answer below.
A darn shame! Aqua rules! Hopefully there’s some SPR3 on the soundtrack though!
…because the songwriters were sued by Mattel and they’re still pissed

No one hit wonder would be too pissed to accept big budget movie money.
A quick scan of the lyrics tells you everything you need to know.
Would be a little on the nose, like if any part of Sabbath’s “Iron Man” had been in the movie “Iron Man”
A song that is not required in a movie that never needed to be made?
I hear “Baby Shark” is available.
But it was part of the movie at end credits.
