For those who love physical media (we know you're out there), here are the new home video releases you need to take for a spin this month

While streaming services continue to remove titles from their libraries and generally devalue legacy content (read: any movie released before 2000), physical media increasingly becomes a reliable source for people to watch what they want, when they want. As collectors ourselves, The A.V. Club is committed to providing a monthly look at the best new home video releases—from the biggest blockbusters to must-see obscurities—as companies from Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures to Vinegar Syndrome and Criterion Collection keep cinephiles’ shelves full of DVD, Blu-ray, and UHD discs.
What’s spinning in January, you ask? Highlights include special 4K editions of Event Horizon, Cloverfield, They Live, Death Wish, Crimes Of The Future, and more. There is also a Jackie Chan box set and a Missing In Action Blu-ray collection to kick off 2023.

The Dunwich Horror with Dean Stockwell and Sandra Dee is coming out on Blu ray on the 10 th.
I’m goin’ down to Dunwich!
There’s been a Shout/Scream Factory Blu-ray out for a while now, as a double feature set.
wow you seriously have to make a slideshow over “these dvds are coming out”?
Well, what else are they going to do – drop slideshows completely? Don’t be ridiculous!
I’m sure all the many, many fans of Black Adam will be excited to see this film in 4k, with its special features and its Henry Cavill cameo (setting up something brilliant in the future no doubt, because it couldn’t be just a quick bit of nothingness!)
The Italian Job… that is a VERY YOUNG Michael Caine!
Cloverfield has been on 4K since 2018. This is not a debut
Cloverfield is getting a 4k Blu-Ray? I mean, I actually enjoyed the movie and all but that seems like a weird choice for upping the resolution. Any found footage movie strikes me as odd for that – they point is to be lo-fi.
I watched it and it was fine. A bit too long. Could have used more Brosnan.
Is Prey ever getting a proper Blu Ray release? Would love to own that in physical form.
The director’s cut is called Blacker Adam.
