Brent Spiner, David Denman, and others join Robert Kirkman’s Outcast

Aux Features TV

As reported by Deadline, Cinemax has found a few more outcasts for its exorcism drama, Outcast. There are six new cast members in total, and they include Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Data), David Denman (Roy from The Office), Melinda McGraw (Mad Men), Lee Tergesen (The Americans), Catherine Dent (The Shield), and Grace Zabriskie (The Killing). The show stars Patrick Fugit as a guy who works as an exorcist in an effort to get over the demonic troubles he had as a child, and it’s based on a comic created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and Paul Azaceta. Denman will play the husband of Fugit’s character’s sister, and he doesn’t trust Fugit due to his “past transgressions.” Most of the other people in the list are members of a specific church that we’re going to assume has demon-related problems, though Deadline doesn’t say who Spiner will be playing. We figure that means he’ll probably be an android of some sort whose inability to understand demon emotion is a recurring plot point.
