Bridesmaids' Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo reunite in this teaser for Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar

Ten years after they cranked out a modern classic in Bridesmaids, Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are set to return with Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar. In addition to penning the script, Wiig and Mumolo lead the cast of the comedy, which finds the titular besties leaving their Midwestern haven for a Florida resort filled with hunks, drinks, and evil.
Yep, there’s apparently a nefarious plot brewing in Vista Del Mar, though you won’t see much about that in the below teaser. You will, however, get a sense of the characters Wiig and Mumolo are introducing here—bubbly, daffy, and just a touch clueless. One question, though: Why hide their faces? They’re all over the press materials.
Jamie Dornan, Damon Wayans Jr., Fortune Feimster, Vanessa Bayer, and fellow Bridesmaids alum Wendi McLendon-Covey round out the cast. Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar, which was originally slated to debut in 2020, will coast onto VOD platforms on February 12.

This felt like one of those SNL sketches where you know, 30 seconds in, that it’s going to tank, and the question is whether you tough it out to the end in the hopes that there’s at least one solid laugh before the end, or cut your losses and bail. In this case, I bailed.
This teaser was in the theaters 1-2 years ago, I’m positive I saw it before a Star Wars movie.
I’ve got your back on this one. It was definitely a trailer in theaters over a year ago and then dropped off the map. I just assumed it had been put on the shelf with everything else due to COVID.
Yeah, I remember seeing this trailer a while ago. Rise of Skywalker was the last movie I watched in theater in 2019. If it was before that, it would have been Avengers Endgame. I doubt they’d play this before Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or Joker.

I hate movie trailers that give away the plot of the movie they’re promoting. Somehow I hated this more.
That paperboy delivered the paper 30 yards with pinpoint accuracy using a backhand throwing motion. He’s apparently an incredible athlete.
The tone and style of this trailer reminds me of when I was a kid and my parents put a movie in the VCR and I had to sit through 4-5 previews and commercials. While watching this I kept waiting to see Michael J. Fox buying a Diet Pepsi or Bette Midler telling us not to take crack.

And crucially, the movie they made did not hold up. The characters and usual plotting are good in 22 minutes.
