Call Of Duty: Black Ops II

Aux News Coming Distractions

Roger Ebert's feelings aside, the idea that video games have evolved into an art form rivaling feature films is not an especially new or unique one. Nevertheless, here are screenwriter David S. Goyer and screaming guy-turned-Oscar-winning-soundtrack composer Trent Reznor to explain why they brought their cinematic minds to November's Call Of Duty: Black Ops II, an installment in the venerable franchise that's so worthy of comparison to big-budget action movies, its "Villain" trailer is scheduled to play in front of select Dark Knight Rises screenings this weekend. Again, you won't really hear anything unexpected—video games are like movies now, the writing for them is every bit as sophisticated and challenging, etc.—but this video does offer some more intriguing gameplay shots to go with other previously released previews, and it tells you just how seriously everyone involved is taking what should be one of the biggest games of the year.
