Chemical Bros Drain Midlake

Aux Features Newswire

To the long and admittedly great list of vocalists who have teamed up with The Chemical Brothers (including Beth Orton, Tim Burgess, Noel Gallagher, Hope Sandoval, Bobby Gillespie, Bernard Sumner, Richard Ashcroft, Wayne Coyne, Q-Tip, and Bloc Party's Kele Okereke), kindly add Tim Smith of Midlake. According to NME, the singer of the much buzzed-about Texas band—whose gorgeous The Trials Of Van Occupanther snagged the #3 spot on The A.V. Club's top albums of 2006—has signed on to contribute to "The Pills Won't Help You Now" (any relation to "The Drug's Don't Work"?) on the Bros.' upcoming album We Are The Night.

Dear Midlake: Please don't let this go to your heads. The Chemical Brothers, wow, yeah, but until Weird Al parodies you, you haven't truly made it.
