David Letterman chats with Kanye West, Ellen DeGeneres in new trailer for his Netflix talk show

David Letterman’s been teasing his upcoming chat with Kanye West for a while now, but today we learned who else the one-time king of late night will dissect during his new season of Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Ellen DeGeneres and Tiffany Haddish will also sit down with the fabulously bearded host, as will philanthropist Melinda Gates and British racer Lewis Hamilton.
Kanye talks bipolar disorder in the above trailer, while Haddish reflects on racial bias in Hollywood and Ellen recalls she and her friends ditching their boyfriends to make out in the bathroom. The interviews themselves are spliced with footage of Letterman in the field, where he braves a racetrack and confounds Kanye with questions about Velcro.
All five episodes will be available on May 31.

I think David Letterman has enough experience as an interviewer to manage Kanye West’s worst impulses as an interviewee. We’re at a turning point, culturally, where we are taking mental health seriously – I hope that Kanye talking about his experience with bipolar disorder lowers the barrier of entry to professional help for people who feel like he does.
At long last, someone is giving Kanye West a platform.
Last season had better guests, but I feel like Dave will still make this a worthwhile watch.

Better guests is quite an understatement. I assume these are just people that Dave personally finds interesting. I wish I did too.
How do you run out of guests after six episodes?!
i watched every single episode of his last season, and even the people i wasn’t interested in ended up being so interesting. i’m looking forward to more — even kanye.
