Find out everything you could ever want to know about Community's Magnitude

When it comes to Community background players, Starburns, Leonard, and Fat Neil are all great, but no one’s had a breakout year quite like Magnitude. The one-man catchphrase machine ("Pop, pop!") has been featured in just a couple of episodes—crashing a Valentine's Day party in Jeff's apartment, running for student body president in "Intro to Political Science"—but his popularity is such that Magnitude is already the subject of a seriously exhaustive “oral history” over at The Wrap. Previewing Magnitude’s return in the Josh Holloway-aided two-part paintball finale beginning tonight, creator Dan Harmon, staff writer Adam Countee, and Magnitude himself, Luke Youngblood, dump a wealth of background information on the character. To wit: Originally just a one-off joke, Magnitude was first named "Poochie" until someone remembered The Simpsons, then went through various iterations like "Quasar" and "Event Horizon" until they realized the “nickname-within-a-nickname” potential of “Magnetic Attitude.” Click through for everything else you could possibly want to know about Magnitude, including his secret history as a 16-year-old prodigy from Barbados with a cardiologist father.
