Signaling supreme confidence in the studio’s latest reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, Paramount is ordering extra pizza. Per Variety, the studio is already gearing up for a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and two seasons of a 2-D animated series.

The series, which will stream on Paramount+, is called ‌Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and will serve as a “bridge” between the films. The teenage cast, Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon, will be reprising their roles in the series. One wonders how much time will be in between the films; if it takes too long, the Turtles could age out of their demographic. It would be interesting to finally see the Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles and how much vigilantism they get done with a full-time job. God, adult Leonardo would be insufferable.

There’s no information on the sequel’s plot. But considering Mutant Mayhem doesn’t come out for another week, we don’t have much information on the story of the first movie either. Variety describes the film as following the Turtles as they “come out of the shadows,” so to speak, and attempt to win over New Yorkers with their pizza-centric personalities and ninja skills.

This is the just latest reboot of TMNT. In 2014, the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles featured those horrific anthropomorphic CGI turtles and starred Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Tony Shalhoub as Master Splinter, for some reason. The 2016 sequel, subtitled Out Of The Shadows and featuring Tyler Perry, stalled Bay’s franchise after it earned less than half of the box office gross as the first.

Paramount hopes that Turtles will have the same nostalgic moviegoing audience as Barbie. With its unique animation style, the movie promises to have some of that Spider-Verse charm. We’ll see for sure when the film hits theaters on August 2.

lol wow suggesting that voice actors might age out of a role… Matt Schimkowitz I’ve certainly called you a hack before but these are low hanging fruit now man.

Can they please hurry up an replace Barsanti and Schimkowitz with an AI? Half of this article was elaborating on a joke about them becoming adults which is based on Matt’s assertion that it’s somehow possible for voice actors to age out a role (it isn’t) so in terms of actual information being presented here what is this article saying. It can be summed up in “TMNT sequel has already been greenlit”.

Idk I’d rather read stuff written by an AI if this is the type of written work being submitted by the human staff.

You’re not wrong, but the quality of this site has rotted away to the point that getting rid of Barsanti would basically be like cutting the head off a Hydra: you’d still be stuck with a bunch of freelance writers that are identically unfunny and headache-inducing to read as Barsanti.

This might be the first movie in a while that my whole household could see together – my son and my wife think the art style is interesting and my daughter and I are just TMNT fans. I’m genuinely looking forward to this…I think.

Matt Schimkowitz isn’t even good at clickbait considering the only information in this article was alluded to in the headline. When the staff here can’t even generate clickbait that’s good as clickbait maybe it is time for the AI.

I’m honestly looking at Barsanti embarrassing himself with the letter grade for Secret Invasion and this and I’m wondering “maybe we should fire these guys if they can’t perform their job better”.

I’m serious I would rather read content generated from an AI than the crap Matt and Sam submit. Get better at their jobs or fire them honestly does none of the staff read the comments this isn’t a new take on Barsanti he’s easily the most hated staff member of the commentariat.

Seriously, improve at your job or get replaced by an AI. But don’t cry like Barsanti has been doing about it just be good at your job or get fired I don’t wanna hear the groaning.

Yes, the problem with the Kinjaverse is clearly the labor, not the management

“I’m serious I would rather read content generated from an AI”Pretty sure you are reading content generated from an AI.

I would love Mighty Mutanimals films. I thought the Archie Mighty Mutanimals and TMNT Adventures comes were great. A Null/Maligna arc would be great! Make it an environmental parable.

“One wonders how much time will be in between the films; if it takes too long, the Turtles could age out of their demographic.”Are you serious? Also all this and no mention of the MASTERPIECE 1990 film and it’s slightly less masterpiece of a sequel?
