In a move that will surprise almost no one who's witnessed the show's steep decline following the departure of creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, fledgling network The CW announced today that it will put the beloved (by some) Gilmore Girls out of its misery with a series finale on May 15. The CW and Warner Bros. said in a joint statement, "We promise to give this series the send-off it deserves."
