![Glenn Danzig is apparently directing a "vampire spaghetti Western"](https://img.pastemagazine.com/wp-content/avuploads/2019/04/14183104/hrhoxxviq0cjjnqdlwsq.jpg)
Glenn Danzig has occasionally flirted with becoming a filmmaker, with his line of spooky sex comics, Verotik, getting a movie deal last year (not to mention his acting roles in Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Portlandia!), but a recent Facebook post suggests that Danzig is about to direct a real feature film. According to whoever runs his Facebook page—it’s probably not him, since the post refers to him as “Mr. Danzig”—Mr. Danzig is putting the “finishing touches” on a movie script that is being billed as a “vampire spaghetti Western.” It also says that casting will be starting soon, but that’s all we know.
Still, “vampire spaghetti Western” is a good pitch, and it definitelly sounds like something Danzig would make. We’re not sure if it’s something he could make, as his talents as a director will go unproven until the Verotik movie comes out. The post also mentions that the Danzig Sings Elvis covers album will be released later this year, but that’s not a vampire spaghetti Western so it’s hard to care as much about that.

He should join up with Johnny Depp and Joe Perry and become Hollywood Vampire Spaghetti.
Wrap party at Vampire Spaghetti Factory?
No man. It’s always at PF Changs. You know that.
No, the old spaghetti factory heh-heh.
Man, they tore down that place to put up condos for a bunch of gentrifiers.
Sounds like something you’d order at the Rainbow.
Oh sure, he’s got enough time to write and direct a film, but not enough to clear those damn bricks off his lawn!Typical.I am very excited to watch this movie.
“Still, “vampire spaghetti Western” is a lazy pitch”Fixed that for you. Hollywood has been making “The Western but with/in BLANK” since the 60s(maybe even before).
I was thinking this is just live-action Vampire Hunter D with a lot of Danzig and Misfits on the soundtrack.
I remember way back when Star Wars came out it was being described as a Western in outer space.
Star Trek was described as Wagon Train in space, for that matter…
“Star Wars” is genuinely a re-write of “The Searchers.” The scene when Luke comes back to find his home burning and everyone dead is a space-set replica of the same scene in John Ford’s movie.
And the scene where he blows up the Death Star is a direct ripoff of the scene in The Searchers where John Wayne blows up the Death Star.
Star Wars was 40 years ago. Its 2019. A Vampire Spaghetti western hasn’t been done in some form?
For the last . . . TIME . . . It’s NOT science-fiction, it’s a SPACE OPERA!
It’s double lame because Hollywood has also made a ton of “BLANK, but its a Western!!” I think it’s because filming in the desert is cheap.
It’s not a comic book or zombie movie, this is basically risk taking nowadays.
You forgot to fix one of the words. Clearly, it should say “vampire basghetti western”.
Say what you will about Danzig, but his Karen Pence anthem really rocked.
His first few solo albums were genuinely good, blues rock that’s still very listenable. Then he got into techno for some inscrutable reason and now is just a general all-purpose asshole. The best thing about Danzig now is this, which by all accounts he deeply hates: (Rollins doesn’t seem to care much one way or the other about it.)
A Fistful of Mother
For a Few Mothers More
How can he work on both this AND Unicorn Store 2?
Danzig can multitask!
Let’s just hope he’s a better director than Rob Zombie.Speaking of vampire (neo-)westerns, I need to rewatch Near Dark.
Zombie’s movies are like very long versions of very bland music videos.
Well, that wouldn’t be hard to achieve.
Near Dark is possibly the finest film of 1987.
Still, “vampire spaghetti Western” is a good pitchPerhaps, but “written and directed by Glenn Danzig” pretty much negates it, don’t’cha’think?
it’s probably not him, since the post refers to him as “Mr. Danzig”
You think he doesn’t refer to himself as Mr. Danzig?
https://www.facebook.com/Danzig/photos/a.395126088070/10156632289248071/?type=3&theaterHe also has a long-gestating album of Elvis covers that might be out in the fall.
Gosh. Somebody will have to tell me how terrible it is.
I remember the good ol’ days when I didn’t loathe this roid-rage asshole.
Yeah… As of now though, my favorite memory involving Danzig is when Danny Marianino knocked him the fuck out.
Danzig looks like Thanos had a little goth brother that tries just a little too hard.
Enjoyed ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. Thought it very entertaining movie.
I still want Danzig to make the Shakira duet a real thing.
Butt rockers be butt rockin.
