Is The Golden Bachelor television’s most sadistic experiment? The fact that they’re having one of the runners-up officiate the live broadcast wedding of Gerry Turner and winner Theresa Nist seems to indicate yes. Except the reality TV loser herself doesn’t seem all that bothered by her bizarre situation. “Gerry’s my buddy and now Teresa is my girlfriend, so why not?” Susan Noles told Glamour of being requested by the couple to preside over the wedding. “I never asked them why, to tell you the truth. But I’m really glad they did.”

The fact is, the Golden Bachelor contestants being incredibly supportive of one another is part of what made the series such a hit. The other fact is, Noles regularly officiates weddings (“Nuptials by Noles”), so it makes sense to choose her for this televised spectacle. She was ordained back in 2011 (“I did everything. I am sworn. I can baptize. I can do funerals. I took it very seriously”), and she’s very passionate about the role: “I fell in love with it, and I’m in love with being in love. So to marry somebody is like the perfect day. Everybody’s happy.”

Though Noles confirmed to Glamour that she has never officiated the wedding of an ex before, she describes being Turner and Nist’s officiant as “over-the-top fun,” adding that “the opportunity to do this is so special. It’s because of the bond between the three of us. And I love doing it for people that I care about.”

Though she may have the most prominent role, Noles likely isn’t the only one of Turner’s exes who will be in attendance at the live wedding on January 4. “We want all of the women from The Golden Bachelor to be there,” Nist previously shared with Entertainment Weekly. “We don’t know who’s going to be able to make it.”

Noles sure will, and she’s ready to act as emotional support. “And for the actual wedding ceremony, you know Gerry’s going to cry,” she said to Glamour. “He already said, ‘Susan, you know…,’ and I said, ‘I’ll be right next to you, babe. It’s all good.’”

Does not getting to marry a guy who lied extensively about his past on national TV really make you a ‘loser’ or more of a ‘bullet dodger’?

If I recall my religious education, in an emergency, anyone who has been baptized can baptize someone. Like if you’re at death’s door and you decide you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior, in the absence of someone more appropriate, I could baptize you.
That was the point of this article, right?

I’m at death’s door: Can you baptize me, The Kinja Caffeine Spider?

It only works for the faith you were baptized into. I can only do Roman Catholic. But let me know if that’s what you want before you jump off the planet. But remember the “in the absence of someone more appropriate”. Do your due diligence. Jus’ sayin’. In His name. Amen.

Only those with priesthood authority can baptize.

Let me clarify. In theory anyone can baptize. However, you must have priesthood authority in order for it to be recognized by God. Christ set the example for being baptized, when he was baptized by John the Baptist, who had proper authority.
