Hannah Einbinder is on a hot streak. Hacks wrapped up its third season this week to rave reviews, and was unsurprisingly immediately renewed for a fourth season on Max. Keeping up her clearly fruitful relationship with the network, Einbiender’s debut comedy special Everything Must Go will premiere on June 13 on Max. If you love her on the show, you’ll likely be into the comedic stylings as teased in the new trailer for the special.

In the chaotic and cinematic clip, Einbinder introduces herself as someone who “smoked Los Angeles chronic marijuana four-plus times a day during vital stages of my brain’s development.” Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor said she named her special Everything Must Go because “I’m essentially burning all of this material that I have spent many years whittling. I also call it Everything Must Go because throughout the set, I speak to the impermanence of life. I talk about climate change, and I begin with my birth and end with a funeral.”

Einbinder’s Hacks co-star Jean Smart actually accidentally announced the special was coming during an appearance on Good Morning America last month. “My publicists texted me after Jean came on your show, and they were like, ‘So we had not… um… we had not officially announced the date of the special. But we love it! We love it. We’re happy that—we wanted her to do it. We want that.’ So, yes! The debut, on GMA! How fabulous! June 13th baby. Check it out.”

Einbinder gained acclaim—and major Emmy buzz—for her role on Hacks, but she began her career on the stand-up circuit. The comedian (who is the daughter of legendary Saturday Night Live original cast member Laraine Newman) was part of the Just For Laughs comedy festival’s New Face of Comedy lineup in 2019, and made her stand-up television debut on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2020. Her new hour-long special is directed by Sandy Honig of Three Busy Debras.
