Harry Potter actor Tom Felton wants to be a rapper, has a contract with UK indie label

Aux Features Film

The Harry Potter film series concludes this week, and now all the young actors in the series have to find other ways of occupying their time. Daniel Radcliffe has gone to Broadway, Emma Watson tried higher education at Brown, but the most curious path would have to go to Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, who recently told U.K. paper The Sun that he’s “looking to get into the grime rap UK scene.” Apparently he’s already inked a deal with an independent label. This comes as a surprise to the few people who’ve followed Felton’s forays into music before, since his previous clips on YouTube or at Feltbeats have all been rather in the poppy singer-songwriter vein and nothing of the “grime rap” variety. “Hawaii” has enough lazy island imagery for the Parrothead faithful, while “If You Could Be Anywhere” is just so damn earnest it’s baffling that this guy wants to make a complete 180 and go into rap.
