A new HBO TV spot featured some footage of some anticipated series hitting the channel and the streaming app in 2022. The sizzle reel gives fans a sneak peek of quite a few highly anticipated series, including the Game of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon, the new series Peacemaker, and the fourth season of Westworld.

The House Of The Dragon takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The footage features shots of the Iron Throne, plus some cool shots of the ensemble, including Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen. The series’ premiere date has yet to be announced.

Peacemaker stars John Cena, reprising his role from The Suicide Squad. It marks the first television series in the DCEU. The show, which also stars Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, and Chukwudi Iwuji, will hit HBO Max January 13, 2022.

The Westworld footage gives viewers their first look at the show since season three wrapped up in May 2020. Thandiwe Newton’s Maeve appears briefly, while in another show Ed Harris’ Man in Black stalks a very scared Caleb (Aaron Paul). The air date for the fourth season is currently unknown.

The sizzle also featured footage of Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty, all about the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers. That series is set to air in March.

The spot also featured other new series headed for HBO Max, including Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Julia, and Love & Death, plus new HBO originals The Time Traveler’s Wife, The White House Plumbers, and We Own This City. They also teased the new seasons of His Dark Materials, The Nevers, The Flight Attendant, The Righteous Gemstones, Euphoria, A Black Lady Sketch Show, Raised by Wolves and Gossip Girl.

The spot also teases movies that will be HBO Max streaming exclusives, including House Party, Father of The Bride, Kimi, The Fallout, Scoob: Holiday Haunt, and Moonshot. Plus, the streaming service will soon be getting The Last Duel, Free Guy, and F9: The Fast Saga.

What is left to be said in The Flight Attendant?

I was so done with Westworld that I didn’t even finish the third season. I am surprised it’s even getting another. Someone will have to fill me in on what I missed.

Boy did Westworld lose its way in season 3 . . . Criminal how so much acting talent and money was wasted in that story arc.

Robo revolution I think happened?  Nobody really died because robots?

They flipped a switch at Evil HQ and in like 5 minutes people were throwing themselves out of windows and lighting cars on fire.  It happened at the exact same cadence and speed of a Rick and Morty joke.

      • bio-wd-av says:

That was a Rick and Morty, its when he destroyed the Federation.  Its even the same set up, down to reduce currency value panic panic. I was stunned to see someone play this super seriously.

Actress I thought I enjoyed until now thinking of it I can’t really remember her, flips a switch and the Facebook of that universe releases everyone’s data.

Not just that, but they put a lot of their eggs in the Aaron Paul basket, and he just wasn’t up to carrying the show. Whether that is a reflection of his acting ability or just poor writing, its hard to say.And he’s coming back next season? Bleh.

I can’t put all the blame on him but it did seem an overly ambitious task to put on Aaron Paul. Honestly, the whole time spent in the modern/future real world was a messy slog the totally ripped the viewer out of the first two seasons.I’d say the overarching plot of the series is overly ambitious and not particularly well executed. That said, I’m gonna stick around just to see robo Man in Black wreak havoc. More Ed Harris is always a good thing.

Holy shit West World is getting a 4th season? That’s low-key awesome. That show definitely…went a certain direction but I’m still here for it. (I still watch the pilot occasionally because it’s just so good at setting a mood that…then it hit only every so often, but I still enjoyed it).

  • captain-splendid-av says:

The last season was so lacklustre and the interval since so long, I completely forgot about Westworld.

  • bio-wd-av says:

I was secretly hoping Westworld wouldn’t come back.  Man fuck that season and to a lesser extent the previous season.  Your not smart your obtuse.

    • kevinkap-av says:

      Your acute.

    • blpppt-av says:

The funny thing is, the writers really had a lot more to milk from Season 1 before they moved on to the “outside the Matrix/Real World” setting, which, immediately seemed like they completely lost their way. This can’t be a cheap show to produce—-I guess despite the bad writing lately its still pulling in viewers.

    Finally, more Barry!

  • killedmyhair-av says:

Could we all pretend Westworld ended with season 2? (and even that is probably too much to ask of some people)

    • bio-wd-av says:

The show ending with Ed Harris saying ah fuck I’m in the thing would almost work.  I’d prefer it.

    • bobusually-av says:

I loved the themes and plot of season 2 but I wish they’d played it straight narratively instead of trying to one-up the time-hopping format.

  • genejenkinson-av says:

It’s so funny HBO threw all its money into GoT spinoffs and more Westworld despite tepid audience response to both and yet Succession is the one that became a massive hit.

  • roboj-av says:

Funny how you don’t mention at all that we’re finally getting Barry again after almost three years since the last season. Also nice to see another season of Raised by Wolves again. Do you get more clicks just by focusing on Westworld and GoT constantly?

So, side note: I do not know if this is a Berenstain bears situation, but did Thandiwe change the spelling of her name in the last few months, or is it just me? Was that “w” always there?I saw her on a talk show about a month ago, and I was confused as whethe rit was her or a relative for a few moments.
