Yeah, I’m not seeing no Jethro Tull.

  • captain-splendid-av says:

Shit, Wet Leg have a Grammy.

  • kirivinokurjr-av says:

So I guess Dre got the opposite of canceled following his long history of violence against women.

    • SweetJamesJones-av says:

I wouldn’t say long history. Dee Barnes got paid and Dre got fined and probation. It was handled within the legal system and he served his punishment.Neither one of his wives ever went to the police and he was never arrested. It’s basically a he said, she said. The 90s and 2000s were not some neanderthal period. Had they gone to the police, they would have gotten help and were free to divorce.  There’s literally no proof, no arrest, and no conviction.   You can believe the women, but a spousal breakup isn’t the best source of truth.

    • chestrockwell24-av says:

Just like Cardi B didn’t get canceled after admitting she used to drug and rob men.

  • bio-wd-av says:

Dave Chappelle winning for team terf the Netflix rant is a cry for attention.  Even if you disconnect the bigotry and you really can’t, its not funny.  Its whiny, something he is getting somehow worse at judging by bringing out Elon Musk at a show.  My how the mighty fall, Clayton Bixby this is not

    • it-has-a-super-flavor--it-is-super-calming-av says:

I’m kinda pleasantly surprised how little coverage his win is getting.
It puts me in two minds mentioning it because I don’t think he deserves anymore publicity and it’s just soul crushing having to still explain to people why his “jokes” are problematic. But his bigotry is now award-winning bigotry, which makes it topical, so shit like this needs to be fought now and loud.
I also feel bad for Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt and Randy Rainbow. They just seem like genuinely nicer people to me.

      • bio-wd-av says:

Gaffigan is one of those guys you rarely hear anything negative about so yeah I’m so sorry he didn’t win.  I have noted more people talking about Kim Petras winning then Chappelle which is of course very satisfying in its own way.

        • chestrockwell24-av says:

I see tons of whining about Chappelle not sure what you mean.  Tons of bad faith “cancel culture isn’t real” comments too

          • cosmicghostrider-av says:

I mean whining is a word you chose and stuff but I think people complaining about Chappelle since he’s an advocate for hate speech against transgender people is pretty fucking valid. Are you one of those dipshits who think they aren’t people too?

          • chestrockwell24-av says:

If you want to use the word “complaining” instead of “whining” then you do you bro. It still doesn’t alter my point: it is wrong to suggest nobody is discussing it. I’ve seen a myriad of articles decrying it and doing the usual “cancel culture isnt real” gaslighting. It’s like saying murder isnt real because some murder attempts failed.Show me a quote of Dave Chappelle advocating for hate speech against trans people. Jokes are not hate speech, I bet you can’t find me any quotes.Of course trans people are still people. Me saying that dude with an adams apple calling himself Tina isnt really a woman doesnt mean I am saying they are not a person. Just like me telling the flat earther that the earth isnt flat doesnt mean I hate them or want them to die or think they arent people. Only a crazy worthless asshole would think saying “hey this person is delusional” means you think they arent even a person. Good thing you didn’t do that!

          • it-has-a-super-flavor--it-is-super-calming-av says:

If you take a look through dipshit’s previous comments (I don’t recommend it) you’ll see they’ve had this discussion a few times now and not learned anything.
The adage about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results evidently applies.

      • chestrockwell24-av says:

        Ive seen plenty of whining

      • cosmicghostrider-av says:

I like how you didn’t even mention Louis CKs nomination lol cuz like lets not even go there. Year 2: Louis CK is normalized as a nominee in categories.

        • chestrockwell24-av says:

Have you ever shown concern over Cardi B being nominated for grammy’s in the past?  Since she admitted she used to drug and rob men, do you feel this normalized the idea it is okay to drug and rob men?  Or is this just more hypocrisy?

    • chestrockwell24-av says:

      Cry more you salty bitch

      • bio-wd-av says:

Thank you for using the proper pronouns, your more considerate then Chappelle.

        • chestrockwell24-av says:

He’s not inconsiderate to trans people though, and if jokes equate to being inconsiderate then fine he is inconsiderate to everyone then. What in life makes you feel you have earned the privilege to be off limits in jokes?

    • cosmicghostrider-av says:

Why is this a yearly tradition now to honour controversial comedians comedy albums at the grammys?

  • Wraithfighter-av says:

Good to know that the Grammys are still pro-bigotry. Glad to know that not giving a shit about their toxic asses is still the right call.

    • chestrockwell24-av says:

Looking at the list of winners I see no bigots. Weird. Are you talking about how they didn’t join with the tiny obnoxious majority of people who slander Chappelle as hating trans people?  Get out of your bubble.

  • chestrockwell24-av says:

Now cue the whining about how cancel culture isn’t real because the mob failed to cancel Chappelle.Of course the fact an attempt to cancel was made is the point.  This is why even just attempted murder is bad.  You failed, but you still tried.

  • charliebrownii-av says:

A few categories missing. But at least we know who won best….melodic rap? That is a genre?

  • mikepencenonethericher-av says:

Bonnie Raitt for Song of the Year is one of those typical Grammy choices that leave you scratching your head. So after all that hoopla Beyonce still didn’t get any of the big awards, in particular album of the year…in favor of Harry Styles wearing a bedazzled clown stripper jumpsuit. I’ll tell you this much, for better or worse I remember more songs from his album than hers.

  • ghostofghostdad-av says:

wow who knew IDLES and Turnstile are worse than current Ozzy?

  • browza-av says:

“ABCDEFU” was nominated? That song has the blandest hook in years.

    • pophead911-av says:

The grammy nominations always confuse me. The clean version of the song is hilarious though, it’s called ABC. Love hearing them squeeze in “forget you” after “A-B-C-D-E”

  • gallagwar1215-av says:

Wait, the Grammy’s are still a thing?  But why?

  • hornacek37-av says:

Good news: Louis CK didn’t win Best Comedy Album.Bad news:  Dave Chappelle did.

  • hornacek37-av says:

What is the difference between Best Rap Song and Best Melodic Rap?I’m not trying to be funny – I legitimately do not know the answer.

  • hornacek37-av says:

What a minute – ABBA was nominated for multiple Grammys this year?  When did this happen?

  • icehippo73-av says:

And the biggest losers? Those of us watching at home, listening to the the worst sound mix at an awards show I’ve ever heard.

  • anathanoffillions-av says:

The BeyHive really has a case this year. For people who say that Beyonce is an ace personality, great shows, everything else, even lets a hell of a voice rip but the the weak link is…well, her music. Now they give the prize to Harry Styles, whose weak link is clearly his boring music, who sleepwalked through his clunker of an A-Ha ripoff song that had like ten words repeated 100 times (what is he, Haim?), and has very little discernable personality except ambition, queerbaiting, acting like a block of wood, and being a guy that everybody wants to bone.

  • tonysnark45-av says:

I read “Best Melodic Rap” as “Best Mediocre Rap,” and that’s my cue to go get my vision checked.
