It’s that time again. A time when households around the world learn about what plays are happening in New York City. Yup, it’s Tonys night. The stars, the songs, the outfits, they’re all on display on Tonys night, not to be confused with Tony Tony Tony night—strangely another night for celebrating Broadway.

And, oy vey, the Tonys also means performances. This year’s festivities were hosted by Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose, who kicked off the show. Hugh Jackman got to make his dreams come true as America’s foremost Australian song and dance man, doing a song from The Music Man. Michael Jackson’s children, Paris and Prince, introduced the weirdly-timed and endlessly uncomfortable MJ musical. And what would a Tony night be without Billy Crystal doing [sigh] “yiddish scat singing” to promote his musical version of Mr. Saturday Night. What did we do to deserve that? Thankfully, things rebounded with a performance from Paradise Square’s Joaquina Kalukango, who would end the night by winning a Tony.

So without further adieu, here are the winners from the 2022 Tony Awards.

I could look it up, but I can’t be the only one wondering, soWhat’s the difference between a “featured role” and a “leading role”.

  • severaltrickpony-av says:

Boooooooo, I hated Lehman Brothers deeply. Lazy play, lazy design.

  • the-duchess-approves-av says:

Yeesh, if you’re not interested in the Tonys or live theater, just give us the list of winners without all the editorializing in the intro and congratulate yourself on being too cool for your job.

  • secretagentman-av says:

Best Play should have been The Minutes. Holy crap that was good and hilarious and then terrifying.
