Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson will release book Letters To Kurt in April

Aux Features Newswire

Eric Erlandson, guitarist for Hole, announced today that he’ll release his first book, Letters To Kurt, on April 8 with Akashic Books. The book consists of 52 letters Erlandson wrote to his friend Kurt Cobain after his suicide in 1994. Erlandson, who founded Hole in 1989 with Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, said he sees the letters “as songs; a fifty-two card pickup. … In no way do I intend to glorify or romanticize Kurt’s chosen way out, nor make light of it.”

Erlandson’s letters to the late Nirvana frontman deal with sex, suicide, and music. “I thought if I could sort out my struggles and disappointments, face my demons, maybe I would be in a position to help others,” Erlandson said. The book's April 8th publication date will mark the 18th anniversary of the day Kurt Cobain was found dead in his home in Seattle.
