Price: $28.99Sonic Youth guitarist/vocalist Thurston Moore generally avoids behind-the-scenes drama in his autobiography, choosing instead to celebrate the New York art scene that so greatly informed his brand of alternative rock. It’s as invaluable as a portrait of a particular period and aesthetic as it is a personal history.

My older brother bought the red and blue Beatles albums when we were kids. Or I suppose our parents bought them for him. He played them quite a bit and I credit those records for my love of the band. Somehow I ended up with them when he moved out for college. Still have them and he doesn’t even know so don’t tell him! I don’t even have a turntable but still wouldn’t give them back!

Great list, I would also include the book Goth: A History by Lol Tolhurst of The Cure — fantastic for anyone into that scene

The Paul McCartney book of photographs he recently found that he’d taken in 1964 is well worth the price,
