We’ve spent the last year and a half wondering when TV would be back in full force (among other things)—this September’s premiere lineup is one of the most robust yet, with daring sci-fi series, multiple long-awaited adaptations, somber documentaries, animated series and anime, and several promising reboots. Isaac Asimov’s Foundation saga begins to unfold on Apple TV+, Y: The Last Man introduces the small-screen’s latest apocalypse, and Star Wars: Visions brings together nine anime studios for nine installments. Impeachment: American Crime Story follows the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, with Ryan Murphy making good on his promise to involve Monica Lewinsky in its production. And The Wonder Years, He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, and Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. reimagine some of our yesteryear faves.

This uses first-person narratives to chronicle the events of September 11, 2001, when terrorist attacks were carried out in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. The documentary team, including Academy Award-winning executive producers Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin, combed through over 900 hours of archival footage, some never before seen, and conducted contemporary interviews with subjects to piece together how the attacks affected people across the country. 9/11: One Day In America was produced by 72 Films (Undefeated, LA 92) in collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. “This six-part docuseries uses first-person narratives to chronicle the events of September 11, 2011, when terrorist attacks were carried out in New York City”That’s a very important date to have a typo on..

You’re absolutely right, itsshawnnotsean, and good catch. It’s been fixed.

But now that we’re all thinking about it…?Maybe? Eh? Eh? A hard-hitting examination of narcissism as it follows first-person accounts of a bunch of people with absolutely no connection to 9/11/01 at all grappling with what its 10 year anniversary “means” for them?

I’m glad to see Brad Neely getting a new show but the writing and humor seems rather formulaic, typical of a lot of adult animated comedies today and out of his usual pseudo-philosophical stylings.Plus, no Fruit Blood

Yeah I’m a huge Neely fan and am not at all interested in this show. Seems like a Bob’s Burgers clone… but maybe I’ll be surprised.

I feel as if we’ve never stopped talking about 9/11, despite it now being 20 years later. I have no interest in watching anything about it, because it’s never gone away nor been too far from the news cycle. I’m already burnt out on 9/11 coverage at a time when it is completely understandable that there would be content about it being released.

Q Force looks like the most cringe inducing thing I’ve ever seen in my life.  I feel bad for whatever writer has to review that.

I hadn’t heard about La Brea but I like the fact that the giant sinkhole is right between two buildings I used to work in (the Museum Square building and the black skyscraper at the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax), neither of which appear to have fallen into the sinkhole.

Star Wars: Visions – I’m getting tired of the franchise but my interest is piqued again by two words: anime and anthology.Midnight Mass – Despite Bly Manor’s missteps I still loved the miniseries. The short episode count has me hopeful for Flanagan’s latest series.Bob’s Burgers is finally showing its age for me. But I’ll continue to watch the show until it gets an upgrade in its animation like The Simpsons did. So perhaps when the movie finally premieres.

And still no adaptation of Dan Simmons’ Hyperion books.

This isn’t the first time I’ve made this comment, and it won’t be the last. But I’m surprised they’re making an adaptation of the Foundation series. Nothing happens in those books! Well, ok, one thing happens.
