He’s an “honorary” Peta member? Is it that hard to be an actual member?

Wealthy old white man harassing minimum wage workers? Truly the wonders never cease. He sure showed those baristas. Fucking dumbass.

“The plant-based market’s biggest drivers, almond milk and soy milk, cost almost double at $4.29 a half-gallon (64-ounces) each, compared to $2.17 for regular dairy milk, according to a price check by FreshDirect. The price tag on oat milk is almost 2.5 times the cost of dairy milk, at $5.29 a half-gallon.”https://nypost.com/2019/07/18/plant-based-milk-may-be-the-double-the-price-but-people-are-drinking-it-up/

Gee, I wonder why they charge more.

    • aej6ysr6kjd576ikedkxbnag-av says:

It’s a tiny fraction of their costs. They could easily charge the same and still rake in a profit.

They could also let their workers unionize and still rake in a profit, yet they’re fighting that tooth and nail.

They should have left him there until he wet his pants. Actor protests price of specialty item as being overpriced in specialty store where everything else is overpriced. Shocking. Blames PETA instead of personal trait.

  • isaacasihole-av says:

    That’ll do , Jim. That’ll do.

Starbucks may be upcharging, but isn’t that reflective of the fact that plant-based milks already cost more? I’m not sure Starbucks is the place to make the stand against that. Also, these milks are certainly more animal-friendly, but are they necessarily that much more environmentally-friendly? The plastic jugs many of them come in are thicker and no doubt more oil-consuming. There’s also a lot of water that goes into producing these products.I say this as someone who consumes quite a bit of plant-based milks (because I support the cause and I’m lactose-intolerant) and is environmentally conscious. We need to make better choices for our future. This publicity stunt? I’m not sure that’s one. Sometimes I’m convinced PETA is more interested in making the news than effecting real change.
