He's okay, apparently, and he wants you to watch his Paramount Plus show

Let it be known that nothing can stop Jeremy Renner from working: Two weeks after getting severely injured in a “weather related incident” (he was using a big snow vehicle to free a stuck car, then the thing rolled back over him after he got out), he’s apparently back at home with his family, reminding people to watch his Paramount+ series Mayor Of Kingstown. Hey, he’s got medical bills to think of now, because even rich celebrities live in this stupid country with its stupid medical system, and getting people to tune in to his show is just smart.

But yeah, Renner is back at home. Unlike previous updates to his condition, which came from his Instagram, this one cam as a reply to a tweet from the official Mayor Of Kingstown Twitter account. In response to a post about the show’s second season premiere being available to stream now, Renner tweeted, “Outside my brain fog in recovery, I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home.” (via Yahoo!)

We don’t know anything else about his condition, but he’s at least well enough to go on Twitter. Maybe as Mayor Of Kingstown continues, he’ll share more updates—though the smarter thing would be to include updates on his condition in episodes of the show. That way you have to watch to see how he’s doing, which means more money for Renner!

In other Mayor Of Kingstown news, The Hollywood Reporter notes that the show’s marketing campaign has edited its main teaser image to remove a bunch of wounds from Jeremy Renner’s face. As we pointed out earlier this month, it was a little weird to see his actual injured face alongside a bunch of ads featuring his face all beat-up for a TV show.

    love this fucking show

  • retort-av says:

Still wonder how he got run over by his own snow plow?

  • anathanoffillions-av says:

hilarious that people equate “sent home from the hospital” with “getting better”…like I am sure he is and I am rooting for him but…do you know anything about hospitals?

I also question returning to his remote home to continue his recovery. It was the heavy snow in that isolated region that had him using large equipment that was responsible for his injury. Is that really the best place for continued medical care?

      • nothumbedguy-av says:

Yeah, because of the snowy, remote area it took over an hour for him to be airlifted out. Should have taken like 20 minutes or so to get him to the hospital.

Out of curiosity, did they say he went back to the same Nevada home? I assume he probably has one in LA or the like as well, although I guess he could be the odd major celebrity who doesn’t.

The stories that I’ve heard didn’t specify, so it’s possible that he has some digs closer to Hollywood. But he is an odd major celebrity, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s back in Nevada.

Having been there, no.  But even Hawkeye ain’t gonna fuck with insurance.  They probably just billed and excused him over a million dollars (for 1/10th that value or less, even with two operations)…nobody is going to squawk even if thirty years ago he would have been in the hospital for MONTHS

You fucking ghoul. What was the point of this shitty fucking post? Hopefully it was to also promote his show because, from what I can see, you mentioned it multiple times. Hopefully, it was some sort of corporate directive that you had to acquiesce to but it rankled your soul so much you decided to sabotage it by writing this as a fuck-you to the powers that be. The other option is that you thought this was some sort of clever social commentary. A rich celebrity injuring themselves while playing with an expensive toy is not the greatest tragedy in the world right now but the guy mangled himself. It is pretty awful. If you are going to make a joke at the expense of someone who has suffered, it had better be hilarious. If you are going to comment on societal ills, like the lack of affordable healthcare, it should be insightful and empathetic. You decided to be cruel, banal, and stupid. Get fucked.

It was rather morbid, looking at his social media and watching the promotional machine trundle on without a hitch.

Mayor of Kingstown is good. Also created by Taylor Sheridan, who’s behind Yellowstone, 1883, 1923 and Tulsa King.
