To save people time he said “Yes. Completely accurate”, and how the studio didn’t know what to do with the sequel, but said if he brought in by a specific date they’d let him do what he wanted.

I don’t hate the idea of all video content, and may have missed something, but is there any reason why the whole interview hasn’t been released rather than drip feeding rather bland parts one at a time?

Yeah, a clip less than 2 minutes long isn’t really worth the click here. Normally I skip these things, but I wanted to know how response.

I’m a fan and still not sure I can pinpoint what makes the first movie appealing. What the second movie does right, though, is hone in on what makes the gremlins themselves appealing: chaos. The second movie is chaos and is all the better for it.

What makes the first movie work is the fact it pulls a “From Dusk Till Dawn” on the audience. It’s two movies wrapped into a neat less-than-two-hour package with a tied together narrative. It starts off as a decent enough family comedy with a cute, almost ET-like, creature at its center. The movie kind of lulls you into the horror territory and it does a great job of doing so. Dante feels like he should be right up there with Spielberg. I can’t figure out how Zemeckis just keeps getting blank check after blank check from Hollywood but Dante was left by the wayside.

I guess the rug pull makes sense for why it’s memorable, but I missed out on that experience. The first movie wasn’t exactly available for me to watch until well after I saw the second. Gremlins 2 is literally one of the first movies I can vividly remember seeing in the theater.

To me the most memorable part of Gremlins was the horrific story of why the girl doesn’t like Christmas. It’s one of those things that probably had to happen in real life at least once.

The weird thing about that scene is that at 8 or 9 years of age my son could have definitely handled the scary parts of that movie , but because of the ‘santa’ story , and that he was still a believer in the jolly fat man , I couldnt show it to him . But he’d already seen Gremlins 2 and loved it . I considered making my own “fan edit “ with that scene cut , but never did (He’s since seen Gremlins and loved that too)
