Kellan Lutz and Gina Carano join Extraction, Bruce Willis’ latest tax write-off

Aux Features Film

When last we reported on Extraction, the Bruce Willis thriller currently in production about a retired CIA operative who is kidnapped by terrorists, we predicted that the role of Willis’ operative-rescuing son would be played by a pile of old tires, or whatever else Willis saw laying around the set. It now appears that we were incorrect, because that literal pile of old tires has been replaced by the actorly equivalent of a pile of old tires, Kellan Lutz. Deadline reports that the Twilight actor, along with MMA fighter and actor Gina Carano, have joined the cast of the film.

Lutz will play Harry Turner, a CIA rookie who disobeys the agency by mounting a mission to locate and rescue his kidnapped father (Willis). Carano is set to play Victoria, a “tough field operative assigned to hunt down Harry.” They join a cast that includes Dan Bilzerian (Lone Survivor), Lydia Hull, and Tyler Olson. And while there is not yet a description of Willis’ character’s personality, the words “gruff,” “sarcastic,” and “pretty spry for a guy his age” are most likely thrown in there somewhere. Similarly, the words “gruff,” “sarcastic,” and “like he’s sleepwalking through the role” were overheard being uttered by the film crew about Willis himself. Extraction does not yet have a release date.
