KISS lines up last shows ever in New York City, blocks from the band’s birthplace
Just a few more hours months, and Kiss will be back home for two final shows at Madison Square Garden on December 1 and 2
Aux News Paul StanleyPerhaps history’s greatest advocate for rocking and rolling all nite, even KISS is finally ready for a moment’s rest. The band will kick off its final tour this October and just announced that it will close out the series of dates with two farewell squares at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, only a few blocks from where the group was first formed back in 1973.
“New York City has been a part of our ethos and storyline for more than four decades, so we felt it fitting to culminate our career on stage at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN,” the band shares in a statement accompanying the announcement. “KISS was born in New York City. On 23rd Street. Half a century ago. It will be a privilege and honor to finish touring at Madison Square Garden, 10 blocks and 50 years from where we first started!”
Aptly titled “The End Of The Road Tour,” Kiss’ exodus from touring has been a minute in the making. The band’s current line-up includes founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Eric Singer on drums, and Tommy Thayer on guitar. Founding guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss stopped performing with Kiss in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

If you truly believe these are the final shows, Gene Simmons has a shitty, overpriced KISS coffin to sell you.
I think it is, actually, if only because Paul Stanley’s voice is toast.
So it’s time to smooch KISS goodbye?
No Detroit in the final run of shows? Little surprising. They have always said that was one of the first cities that broke them.
They played Detroit at the first part of this tour which actually started before Covid. This is the final stage of it, but Motor City was on there.
yeah, they’ll go to Indianapolis, but not Detroit?!??!? I saw them way back in 1977 in Detroit. It must have been the Love Gun tour. I think it was my first concert. Pretty big deal for a 12 year old lol.
They have to go there to play their hit song “Indianapolis Rock City”.
Maybe they’ll stop there on their next last tour.
How in the hell was this article written without a single reference to the fact that KISS has been going on final tours for decades now?
Definitely an oversight. And that does the sub-header “Just a few more hours months” even mean?Sloppy.
I think it’s a sloppy reference to “Beth.”
I saw them on their first Farewell Tour, when Ace and Peter were briefly back in the band.
Maybe they meant their “final tour of 2023.”
But this time they really mean it.
Yeah, like, is Cher opening?
Yes, and she’ll be performing with a Sonny hologram.
KISS is one of the most overrated shitty ass bands in the history of music.
I always feel so sorry for the guy whose face make-up is a dog.
There is no such person.
Oh! Mark St. John? He’s dead.
Nobody believes that this is their last tour lol.
No, but we hope. God, do we hope.
OBLIGATORY:
If anyone believes their genuinely final tour will have nine shows in Canada (including Saskatoon!), but skip San Francisco and the entire states of Texas and Florida, I’ve got a great bridge to sell you.
I saw them last year on the Australian leg of this tour and they were pretty good. A very intense show though – the pyrotechnics were almost uncomfortable loud and all that but it was a good gig overall.
Yeah, yeah. They’ve promised to fuck off at least a half dozen times by now, and they’ve always welched on it.
