Kristy Swanson:  "Let Buffy live"

Aux Features TV

Since the Internet will not be satisfied until everyone who ever lived weighs in on the soul-shattering possibility of a Jossless Buffy The Vampire Slayer remake, The Hollywood Reporter has sought out the counsel of Kristy Swanson, who starred as Buffy Summers in the largely unloved 1992 movie.  In contrast to Whedon himself, who groused that it was a "sad reflection on our times when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths just because they can't think of an original idea of their own" as he headed to the bank to deposit royalty checks for The Avengers, X-Men and Alien: Resurrection, Swanson expressed an everybody-have-fun-tonight attitude towards the venture, saying "Let Buffy live" and "I love everything Buffy.  I don't care who's doing it."  Lest we forget what industry she is in, she added that if the producers of the new show wanted her to be in it, "that would be fantastic".

Luke Perry, who played romantic broheim Pike in the movie, declined to comment, leaving only Armin Shimerman and the guy who played the demon bartender still to weigh in on this extremely important issue.
