Per CNN, Larry King has been hospitalized with COVID-19. According to sources close to the family, the iconic talk show host and former CNN interviewer has been receiving treatment at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Center for over a week and remains secluded from his family in accordance with coronavirus protocols.
King, 87, has publicly dealt with a number of medical issues, including Type 2 Diabetes, multiple heart attacks, and quintuple bypass surgery. In 2017, he shared his lung cancer diagnosis and underwent a successful surgery to treat it. He also had an angioplasty and a stroke in 2019. Despite his rocky health history, he has maintained a robust career beyond his initial retirement in 2010 with Larry King Now, a thrice-weekly talk show on Ora TV, Hulu, and RT America. He also helms the weekly political talk show Politicking With Larry King, which also airs on the trio of platforms. Prior to that, he hosted CNN’s Larry King Live for 25 years.
As of now, King’s representatives have yet to comment on his current status.

“If there’s one disease you don’t want to get, gang, it’s gotta be COVID-19.”
I’d be so mad if Miss Rona had her way with me right as a vaccine was being rolled out.
Not for long, though.
The vaccine solves one problem. Death soles them all.Eat Arby’s
I think you meant “Potlicking with Larry David”
“He [Larry King] also helms the weekly political talk show Politicking With Larry David…”Are y’all hiring copy editors? I could use some remote work.
I wanna go Picnicing with Larry David, this sounds great!
“Copy editors? Unless they make auto playing ads and irritating slide shows, we don’t want ’em! Fire every copy editor!” – Jim “Herb” Spanfeller.
I’d watch a show called Politicking with Larry David.
I’d watch a show called Polidicking with… whoever.
“The ONLY SHOW where I ask ALL THE WRONG QUESTIONS.”** /read as Larry David
What are you talking about. He made the show cooler. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t watch a Larry David hostee politics show.
Is “hostee” a copy editing joke?
I would watch that.
18 hours later, no change.Do you ever get the feeling that they just don’t care anymore?
they just don’t care anymoreThe AVClub
LOL, right? I am available for some freelance work. Incidentally, “Politicking with Larry David” would absolutely be something worth watching.
A full 36 hours later and no one seems to have caught this. Incredible work, AVC.
The fixed it today without acknowledgement. Guess I can kiss those copy editing dreams goodbye.
Once in a hospital for Covid I had my medical chart confused with Larry David’s. Schenectady, you’re on the air.
I had no idea Kevin Pollak had a Kinja burner.
Hush! He’s going to do Columbo next.
Don’t be ridiculous – Falk is the closer. Walken is next, obv.
Hush! He’s up to Shatner.
Pretty sure this is just a cover story, and he’s actually trying to recover from “Larry, I’m on DuckTales” burn.
“Larry, I’m on DuckTales” burnI get the feeling I’m missing some information here…
No shame at all in this. The internet — and its fascinations — burn fast and bright.
Oh dear lord that’s solid gold.
I was in the same boat, but the video RonnieBarzel posted has just brought me great joy.
Yeah, you know who else is on DuckTales? Scrooge McDuck. Who has so much money he literally swims in it.And before you “explain” to me that there’s a “difference” between “fiction” and “reality,” can I please point out that we’re talking about an interview between a guy wearing suspenders and Chad from Cougar Town?
And wasn’t that a joke on “Mythic Quest?” Danny Pudi’s character aspires to be Scrooge McDuck, not because he wants to swim in money, but because he wants to have the power to pay people to do ridiculous things like building a giant money silo.
I don’t know about you but I’m betting on the guy who survived the Ten Plagues of Egypt.
“Danny, I’m on a ventilator. “
Larry King is kinda like Alex Trebek in that I know he’s old and has health problems and will probably go soon (whether by COVID or something else), but I’ll still be very saddened when he dies.
1). I hope he makes a full recovery.2). Is it wrong that I read that he was 87 and thought, nah, that seems too young?
1) So do I2) Nope, thought so tooand if I may add a third point– 3) What the hell are Ora TV and RT America?
Yeah, I thought he was well into his 90s. Feels like he was 87 back when he retired from CNN. Never would have imagined Larry King was younger than Joan Rivers!RT is a Russian news channel. We get it here on cable in the UK – one channel up from CNN. Every American on that station sounds like they were fired from Fox news for being too smug.Ora TV? I would hazard a guess that it’s a station owned by Rita Ora’s Albanian Mob uncle, who uses the station (and his niece’s mindboggling two decade long career in movies! music! presenting! sneaker deals!) to launder shit tons of dough … allegedly …
Wait the Russian state propaganda channel is right next to CNN where you live? That’s so ironic I can barely believe it.
Yep. Russia Today, Kremlin-funded and controlled although they deny it, also hosts a weekly Dennis Miller chat show, Dennis Miller Plus One.
What an odd career he’s gone in. First North Korea, now Russia?
His career is odder than {insert obscure historical reference} hooking up with {insert outspoken left-wing celebrity} while driving through the {insert obscure geographical reference}.
“babe”Gotta end the joke with babe
I don’t know about Ora TV, but RT is Russia Today, a straight up propaganda outlet. They like to throw shit tons of money at famous former broadcasters to make themselves seem more legitimate.
Don’t let Trump know about it, or he’ll have a new favorite news channel.
Ora TV is a US-based studio owned by the Mexican telecommunications giant América Móvil. RT America is part of the Russian RT network and is widely regarded as a propaganda channel. The US makes it register as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.According to King, his show is licensed and aired on RT America, but not produced by them. They have no control over the content.
I assume Ora TV is just a stream that bombards you with Jojo Bizarre Adventure references and gifs.
They both sound like fake sex websites in a 90’s hacker movie
I thought he was at least 92…..
I thought he was 87 back in 1984 when he had that cameo in the first Ghostbusters.
He also helms the weekly political talk show Politicking With Larry David
I really hope he survives and lives to be 100 years old, so he can finally grow into his own age.I’m joking, but I’m also serious. Hang in there, Larry!
Multiple heart attacks, bypass surgery, strokes, lung cancer! Forget the Pfizer vaccine, I want some of that Larry King blood injected right into my marrow!
He’s unkillable. He’ll beat this.
I’m guessing that snake oil made from kelp (or whatever) King peddles didn’t protect him.
Eh, he is 87 and so far indestructible. I’ll try it.
