Mad Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day with new Joker: Folie A Deux pictures

Happy Valentine’s Day, Gotham. The Clown Prince of Crime is returning to theaters this year, but with romance being in the air and all, director Todd Phillips decided to spread the love and share some shots from Joker: Folie A Deux starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. The follow-up to 2019’s Oscar-winning Joker, Folie A Deux, is reportedly a musical about Joker’s emotionally healthy relationship with Dr. Harleen Quinzel. “Hoping your day is full of love,” writes Phillips. Isn’t it nice to see Harley and her pudding enjoying each other’s company like that?

Obviously, these pictures offer nothing in terms of plot. The first one, which shows Joker and Harley basically standing there, looks more like a publicity photo than anything. However, it is nice to see a little nose rub with these two mad lovers in the second picture. There’s also a photo of the pair dancing in what we can only assume is one of the film’s much-hyped musical sequences. Plus, Joker wears a tux, which is a nice variant for the character. We’re tired of all the Nurse Jokers every Halloween. Let’s see some black-tie Jokers.

Deep in the comments, Phillips also hid another Valentine’s gift. When asked when a teaser for the sequel would be released, Phillips commented, “Our first teaser won’t be out until mid April.” That’ll make a lovely Passover and/or Easter present, too. It will be nice to find out what, exactly, kind of musical this thing is. Maybe Harley can finally diagnose this guy because, in the last movie, it felt like he had a new psychological condition in every other scene.
