Netflix’s has released the first look at its new Spike Lee joint: A series based on the director’s early feature, She’s Gotta Have It. Like the film, the teaser is primarily in black and white, save for its final image, which features the protagonist—artist Nola Darling (DeWanda Wise)—sitting up in a bed. When the project was announced, Lee said that it was his wife, Tonya Lewis Lee, who had the idea to turn the movie about Nola’s relationships with three different men into a show. “We are getting an opportunity to revisit these memorable characters who will still be relevant and avant-garde three decades later,” Lee said in a statement. He’ll helm all episodes of She’s Gotta Have It, which will premiere on Thanksgiving.
