Bad news for Superman, but maybe good news for fans of Superman & Lois: Lex Luthor is coming to the show in its third season—but there’s a twist, depending on how closely you follow The CW’s superhero shows. According to Entertainment Weekly, the noted Metropolis businessman with an unfair reputation for being a supervillain will be played by Michael Cudlitz from The Walking Dead and not Jon Cryer, who played the bald bastard on Supergirl and Crisis On Infinite Earths. That is because, as fans are aware, Superman & Lois is explicitly not part of the Arrowverse, despite the fact that stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch were first introduced as Superman and Lois on the Arrowverse shows.

EW says that this version of Lex is “a brutal psychopath who terrorizes anyone he crosses paths with,” and when he first appears on the show, he will be “hellbent on correcting a personal injustice by enacting revenge on the two people he feels have wronged him.” (This is a DC show, so there’s no Marvel No-Prize for anyone who can correctly guess who those two people are.) This version of Lex Luthor is also a billionaire businessman, because every Superman story somehow finds a way to make Lex Luthor a famous billionaire and an evil terrorist… which does kind of make sense, since that’s basically how it works in the real world.

Though this technically isn’t a re-cast, season three of the show will feature a re-cast: Michael Bishop will now be playing Jonathan Kent, replacing Jordan Elsass after he decided to leave the show out of concerns for his mental health (he later said he might quit acting altogether). The third season of Superman & Lois will premiere on The CW on March 14.

If he shaves his head…. yeah, absolutely, I can see it, I have little doubt he can pull it off. He went from the most annoyingly over the top masculine dude bro, to some oddly awful, emasculated cry baby in less time than it takes a black male character to die on TWD. On TWD. Then he got his head caved in…Hes got the chops.

It’s funny I JUST watched that episode last night while rewatching the series since I dropped off around season 9.  It was a shame because they just STARTED to give him a little character development.

I still remember when this guy played Bob on The Zeppo, one of my favorite episodes of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. I think he was 35 at the time, when he was playing a dead teenager.

It took me a couple episodes of The Kids Are Alright to realize the dad was Abraham from The Walking Dead. It’s like his head changed size and shape.Wish that show would’ve gotten a better chance to maybe catch on.

In the early 90s, Lex faked his death and transferred his brain to a clone that he claimed was his own son but a good guy and he looked like this and was also Australian, for some reason. And he ran around with a “Supergirl” made of protoplasm called Matrix from a pocket dimension who was in love with him and eventually merged with Linda Danvers, all because Superman was the only one allowed to have survived Krypton post-crisis. It was insane, and I regret to say, also a lot of fun. I can see Cudlitz as the Australian Lex Luthor II (he must do the accent). They went through with the effort to bring Jenna Dewan back as Lucy Lane, so that really hammered home that people look the same across universes. This goes against that. They should do the clone thing.

Sure why not. SO long as they don’t pull that HORSESHIT Titans did and kill Luthor off in the same episode they introduced him.  Taken out like a punk by a C List villain.
