Michelle Forbes joins The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, as foretold in sci-fi prophecy

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2 has added Michelle Forbes to its already formidable cast as Jackson, a hardened soldier who butts heads with Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss in the escalating war between the Districts and the Capitol. The news is mostly surprising because it points out that Forbes wasn’t already cast in Mockingjay. Before The Killing, Forbes was best known for roles like Ensign Ro Laren in Star Trek: The Next Generation, crisis management and foreign policy advisor Lynne Kresge on 24, and Admiral Helena Cain in Battlestar Galactica’s fan favorite one-off, “Razor.” Hardened soldiers are kind of her thing.

Before Mockingjay, Forbes has an upcoming role on this season of Orphan Black, where she will encounter any combination of Tatiana Maslany’s approximately 1,000 characters. Forbes will presumably be relieved that in Mockingjay, she’ll only have one Jennifer Lawrence to contend with. [via The Hollywood Reporter]
