Migos gets a fairy tale twist with “Belle And Boujee”

When he accepted the Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy for Atlanta, Donald Glover declared Migos’ “Bad And Boujee” the “best song ever.” And it would seem even fairy tale princesses agree. Just in time for the release of the new live action movie, Nerdist gave “Bad And Boujee” a Beauty And The Beast makeover. Here it’s Belle who proudly declares her life is “Belle And Boujee” while she rocks a “YRP” (“young rich princess”) necklace. And with help from glamorous versions of Fifi, Mrs. Potts, Lumière, and “Lil Uzi Chip,” she revels in her life of nouveau riche luxury.

Without a doubt the best lyric in this parody is the opening, “Raindrop, drop top / Chillin’ with a pot and teapot.” But there are also other gems like “Duckin’ on Gaston ’cause he not hot” and an enthusiastic celebration of baguettes. Throughout actor and model Natasha Ward makes a very compelling Belle, one who very much gives Emma Watson a run for her money.

This isn’t the first time Migos’ catchy song has been combined with a childhood classic. When the trio stopped by The Cruz Show, they rapped the kids’ book Llama Llama Red Pajama over the “Bad And Boujee” beat. And, of course, “Belle And Boujee” owes a lot to the first parody to declare Belle “boujee,” Todrick Hall’s 2013 video “Beauty And The Beat” and its sequel “Beauty And The Beat Boots.”
