Today, in news from the utterly inexplicable: Both Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A.,” and NSYNC’s ode to fucking off, “Bye Bye Bye,” have suddenly leaped into the digital charts, suggesting that the American people have suddenly and spontaneously picked up an interest in partying, as well as cutting ties with notoriously shitty relationships, pretty much out of nowhere.
This is per the @chartdata Twitter account, which tracks big movements on most of the major streaming and music sales sites. In this case, Cyrus’ 2009 opus to patriotic partying appears to have broken into the iTunes Top 200 when some unknown event occurred earlier this morning, and has now risen to the Top 40 for similarly mysterious reasons. “Bye Bye Bye,” in which NSYNC bids farewell to a cruel puppetmaster driving their lives relentlessly into the shitter, has meanwhile broken into the Top 200 in just the last hour.
In other news: YG and Nipsy Hussle’s “FDT” has now also entered the iTunes Top 10, because, seriously: Fuck Donald Trump.

Somehow I find myself listening to this:seems appropriate.
From Canada… We rock at dawn on the front line
Like a bolt right out of the bluuuuue
Four years ago after the election it was “Highway to Hell.”
I was prepared to play this one if Trump won:
Yee haw mother fuckers.
Listened to this three times, hahahaa!
The angry pause after “You hurt a lot of folks” cuts deep, but Trump is too much of a narcissistic sociopath to be hurt by that.
Aw, yeah, inject it straight into my veins.
Edit
I have different tastes than most people on the internet apparently (I’m 50, go figure). I went in a different direction.
That works. Also, “Hit the Road, Jack.”And, “Let the Good Times Roll.”And, doubling up on Obama… “At Last.”
Don’t come around here no moreDon’t come around here no more
Whatever you’re looking forHey, don’t come around here no more
oh i hit this one for sure. “dancing in the street”, too.
How about the awful Dave Mustaine version?
I prefer the show stopping version:
For Trump and all his supporters:
Somehow Young Jeezy wrote “My President Is Black” well before Obama got elected and released it on his website the summer before the election. It only got a major release in the middle of November but I heard it for the first time on a downloaded mp3 the night Obama won. It was the perfect song for the historic occasion and for that moment life had a soundtrack. I don’t know if anything like that will ever happen again.
I’m usually a very positive person but The Donald deserves this…
I was thinking more:
specially the ones in GA and PA 🙂
Sadly, this has been the song of the day every day for the past four years…
While I agree with the sentiment of FDT, can anyone explain why YG and Nipsy are popular? They don’t seem to have even a tiny bit of talent (they rhyme the same word like three consecutive times, that’s usually something someone like Weird Al would do to parody a song like this…except Weird Al is more talented).I’m honestly asking…I’m mostly into punk and metal but appreciate talent regardless of the genre, so if I’m missing something about these guys, please let me know.
Oh well, not all rap is for everyone. I hears dudes arguing for their favorites like they argue about their favorite sports teams. It can get pretty fierce (East coast West coast, etc)
Yeah, I’m pretty familiar with the genre, at least the ‘old school’ version — I love guys like Blackalicious or Lupe Fiasco, as a couple of examples. These two guys just sound like they’re doing beat poetry with a backbeat though…I just don’t get it. While I have mixed feelings about someone like Eminem, he has lyrical creativity and can let his lyrics out as if he’s spitting out jet fuel. I don’t see what these two are bringing to the table, musically.
I’m not feeling these two at all. But then I don’t like Taylor Swift either, lol.
I tend to fire this one up every so often as a reminder:
I just want to party, so
for me its a small , but super talented MD steampunk group that had my feeling.
I made a whole playlist, but at the very top is this (especially the last minute of the song):

I’m partial to this Bill Withers classic:But of course, the original troll song at sporting events when victory is in hand:
Sorry I’m late, but I know this singer was even dedicating this song to soon-to-be-former president trump, so I think it fits.
Cool how this is a political site
I have to point out that “Party in the USA” has suddenly been on regular mellow/soft work/light rock radio rotation for a few months so that could be arousing interest, as well we recent events.
This would be it for me. Good Riddance
“Party in the USA”
This little clip recently began showing up in my recommended videos feed.
N’Sync making a comeback to the charts is just proof 2020 is the Hell Year we’d all like to forget.
