Nick Cave to release new album, concert film in September

Long-time rocker and “Prince Of Darkness” Nick Cave has announced that he’s releasing a new multimedia project, combining his and his band The Seeds’ latest album with a film that will play in art house theaters. The new project—one of a few “visual albums” that’ve been released this year—is still untitled, but is expected to be released on September 9. (The film will premiere the day before, at L.A.’s Laemmle Theater. Details about the movie are sparse, but the theater’s site lists it as featuring footage shot in “black and white, color, and 3-D).

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds’ last album, 2013’s Push The Sky Away, earned guardedly positive reviews from critics. This new composition—still untitled, apparently—will be Cave’s first since he suffered a tragedy last year, when his 15-year-old son Arthur died in a fall.
