Norman Reedus is publishing a book of Daryl Dixon fan art

Aux Features TV

It’s not surprising that The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon has become the show’s breakout character. He’s a badass with a crossbow, he looks good in a denim jacket, and he rarely engages in the hand-wringing and angst that take up so much of his fellow survivors’ time. (And even when he does have a shelter-destroying emotional breakdown, at least he does it to a damn good song.)

It also doesn’t hurt that Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl, seems like a genuinely good guy. Case in point: self-publishing a book of art he’s received from fans over the years, and giving some of the proceeds to charity. Titled Thanks For All The Niceness, the book contains 100 different drawings, tattoos, cakes, and whatever other ways fan artists have found to express their appreciation/devotion/lust for the squirrel-eating, sleeve-resistant hillbilly. Published under Reedus’ Big Bald Head production banner, the book retails for $60, with a “significant portion” of the proceeds going to The Bachmann Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation.

Thanks For All The Niceness is Reedus’ second book, after last year’s photography collection, The Sun’s Coming Up… Like A Big Bald Head, which is described on the actor’s web site—in what may or may not be a joke—as “a hauntingly intimate journey through the dark and sublime.”

Just to get your whistle wet, here are a few samples of art from Thanks:
