Queer Eye’s Antoni starred with Mackenzie Davis in a 2011 production of Legally Blonde

Long before he was teaching grown men how to slice and smash avocados, it appears Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski was bitten by the acting bug. A quick glance at his IMDB page confirms that this reality star-turned-restaurant owner appeared in a handful of short films and at least one episode of The Blacklist before earning his spot in the Fab Five. Recently, however, a couple of internet sleuths uncovered what’s got to be his most notable pre-Queer Eye role: A bare-bones 2011 production of Legally Blonde: The Musical with Terminator: Dark Fate star Mackenzie Davis.
Davis, who you may know from her roles in Halt And Catch Fire and the “San Junipero” episode of Black Mirror, played Elle Woods in this production at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, where both she and Antoni studied acting. Initially, it was thought he played the role of Emmett, Elle’s nice guy love interest, but further evidence points to him actually playing Warner, her self-centered, waspy ex-boyfriend. Regardless, we’re hoping he found some way to work a recipe for porchetta or roasted Brussels sprout in there.
And, because we know you’re asking, there is a video! Unfortunately, it’s of the song “Blood In The Water,” which doesn’t really feature Antoni or Mackenzie Davis prominently. You can, however, see him concentrating very hard on his choreographed tap routine at the 5:10 mark, You’re welcome.

I don’t think I remember Ted doing a whole lot of cooking in the original, although he did offer good kitchen advice.
True story: Every time I see Mackenzie Davis’ name I expect the article to be about Mackenzie Crook. I don’t know why I keep thinking his last name is Davis.
Ha, I do this too – I’ve always assumed that it’s because my brain’s making some vague association with his Office (UK) co-star, Lucy Davis.
I know this is supposed to be about the QE dude, but my mind is much more explodey at learning that Mackenzie Davis played Elle. O_O
I think it’s because Reese Witherspoon is like a foot shorter than Davis.
I think it may be just because “ditzy blonde” is just NOT the kind of role I see Davis in. Also, I didn’t know she could sing. (Then again, Geena Davis played a ditz in Earth Girls are Easy, and she’s certainly one of the last people one would think of as a ditz, too.)
Yeah, that’s nice and all, but Bobby built that theatre in 18 hours.
