Quentin Tarantino adds Lena Dunham to his big Hollywood movie

Aux Features Film

Holy shit, but Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is getting big. A quick IMDB perusal of the film’s cast list suggest that Tarantino has added roughly…one second…yeah, all the people to the movie, from regulars like Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Zoë Bell, to folks like Luke Perry, James Marsden, and Burt freaking Reynolds.

Now we can make that all-the-people-plus-one, with Variety reporting that Tarantino has now cast Lena Dunham in the film, one internet-enraging auteur to another. Dunham—whose post-Girls acting career has largely been confined to a single appearance on American Horror Story—will apparently play a character called Gypsy in the film, about a pair of washed-up former Western actors (Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt) whose meanderings bring them into the proximity of the Manson Family murders and also, apparently, half of L.A. (EW is suggesting that the character is Catherine “Gypsy” Share, one of Charlie’s disciples, although that’s not entirely clear yet.)

Dunham wasn’t the only new addition added today, either; Austin Butler, Maya Hawke, and Lorenza Izzo have also all joined the cast, all in what sound like minor roles (presumably a given, since, even if this thing is three hours long, that’s still going to average out to like 9 seconds of screen time per person in the cast).
