STFU! Japanese-British pop singer Rina Sawayama will make her acting debut alongside Keanu Reeves in the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4. According to Deadline, her co-starring role remains a secret, but oh me oh my, we know she’s going to kill it. John Wick: Chapter 4 will begin production this summer, with filming taking place in France, Germany and Japan.

Sawayama shared her excitement on Instagram, telling fans, “y’all better watch the first 3 movies !!!!!!!!!!!” Fellow musicians Japanese Breakfast, Dorian Electra, Chloe Bailey, and Rebecca Black rejoiced at the announcement.

John Wick: Chapter 4 will be directed by Chad Stahelski, with Shay Hatten and Michael Finch writing the script. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski are producing the film, with Reeves and Louise Rosner signed on as executive producers. This installment in the John Wick franchise is slated for release in summer 2022.

“I’m so glad to have Rina on board to make her feature film debut in John Wick: Chapter 4,” Stahelski says. “She’s an incredible talent who’ll bring so much to the film.”

Sawayama’s made her name in music over the last year following the release of her debut album, SAWAYAMA, a feat of genre-bending, pulling in elements of metal, hyperpop, and disco. Paired with stunning and ever-transforming visuals, she’s quickly caught the attention of artists such as Elton John and Lady Gaga.

“y’all better watch the first 3 movies !!!!!!!!!!!”No, you don’t.  In fact, given recent trends, you don’t need to watch the fourth one either.

3 was better than 2, so I’d say it’s trending up.

3 was the one that turned John into a complete joke. He’s gone from avenging angel of death to not-too-bright-patsy.I guess that’s technically a character arc, though.

        • jomonta2-av says:

He’s still pretty good at shooting people in the head though.

        • notochordate-av says:

Really? The bit in the first one where he gets caught and has to be rescued by a friend didn’t drive home how singleminded he is?

        • south-of-heaven-av says:

3 was significantly better than 2 but the ending was too much, even for me. No way did he survive that fall.

        Are you fucking high?

2’s my favorite so far but I respect your opinion.

There’s nothing in any John Wick movie, past or future, that will top John Wick fighting assassins as the JUST HAPPENED to stumble into a, like, museum of chinese weapons. I could NOT stop gleefully laughing for that entire sequence. It was everything i wanted.

2 is my favorite. 3 is the first time there were moments that started to drag for me, I thought the Continental raid in particular lasted a few minutes too long. I still found most of it massively entertaining though, and I will gladly line up for 4.

lol, what are you on? all three of them are super fun.

You just have awful taste. Don’t @ me, somebody had to tell you.

I don’t know who this is but now I’m thinking that each John Wick installment should introduce a different supporting character who is introduced, steals the show, and then departs. Common (sort of) in Part 2, Halle Berry in Part 3, this Sawayama person in Part 4, Sandra Bullock in Part 5, Millie Bobby Brown in Part 6, and then finally and 80 year old Arnold Schwarzenegger in Part 7.

hopefully she can deliver the dialogue to the same level as ruby rose did

  • hendenburg3-av says:

Okay, so John Wick 4 is going to feature Keanu Reeves’ character presumably teaming up with Lawrence Fishburne’s character?
They damn well better cast Carrie-Anne Moss.

  • batista_thumbs_up-av says:

The series has already included The Vulture and Adrian Pimento, so Chapter 4 better have room for one more guest…Doug Judy

    • softsack-av says:

Weirdly, it’s not so hard to imagine that the Vulture would end up being some sort of right-hand to a mobster, or that Pimento would end up as… whatever he is in JW3.
Given that, Doug Judy would presumably have to be something like the Sommelier from JW2, but for cars.

  • kleptrep-av says:

Should’ve cast Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (sp) to play off her JW3 reference instead of some nobody.
