Who he is: Riptide
His power: Riptide can create tornadoes of various sizes in the palms of his hands.
His story: No substantial character details are given about Riptide in X-Men: First Class. All the information viewers get is that he is one of Sebastian Shaw’s henchmen, can create tornadoes, and has a snazzy fashion sense. He joins Shaw and Azazel for the attack on the CIA’s covert research base where Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr’s young mutant recruits are being held, creating a giant tornado to take out the Cerebro prototype. He makes more tornadoes during the film’s climactic Cuban Missile Crisis action sequence, but he’s incapacitated when Magneto crushes him with metal from the submarine his tornado just knocked out of the sky. Riptide ultimately joins Magneto after Shaw is killed, but he hasn’t been seen since.

Currently, Riptide is: His current status is unknown, but he’s not mentioned by Magneto as one of the allies he’s lost, so it’s very possible that he’s alive somewhere terrorizing people with mutant-made tornadoes.
Where will we see him next? There are no plans for Riptide to reappear in any future movies, but as a member of Mr. Sinister’s Marauders in the comics, Riptide could still potentially show up somewhere to introduce Sinister to the X-Men Cinematic Universe.
