The video for Guided By Voices “Planet Score,” off the band’s forthcoming new album Motivational Jumpsuit, features Matt Jones (Badger from Breaking Bad) casually shooting hoops on a playground court. But then Nate Corddry interrupts him with jeers, making the poor guy who just wants to play basketball with a cigarette in his mouth miss over and over again. Fortunately, Nate’s brother Rob Corddry shows up as a sharply dressed coach who gets Jones back in the zone. It’s a short and sweet bit of fantasy that looks like it was cooked up during a pickup game with friends, and that’s just fine for a brief, punchy track like this one.
