Robyn, HAIM, and The Isley Brothers headline this year's Pitchfork Music Festival lineup

Aux Features Music

As the city slowly wakes up and begins shaking off the bone-chilling cold, a sign of spring as sure as empty Cheetos bags blossoming out of half-melted snow drifts has arrived in Chicago: The annual announcement of the Pitchfork Music Festival lineup. Now in its 14th(!) year, the festival returns to Chicago’s Union Park from July 19 to July 21 with a typically eclectic (and nostalgia-friendly) lineup led by Swedish pop sensation Robyn, L.A. sister trio HAIM, and Midwestern funk-rock stalwarts The Isley Brothers celebrating 60 years of music.

This year’s Pitchfork festival also features Stereolab’s first North American show in 10 years, as well as sets from artists like Pusha-T, Earl Sweatshirt, Freddie Gibbs, Charli XCX, Belle & Sebastian, Snail Mail, and Sky Ferriera. Lotsa people rag on Pitchforke.com, myself included, though they have been very positive interweb music site. And Chicago, local version, greeter etc. Never been there. One day will 🙂 Hopefully. Why? America. Expanse. & Architecture.

      Out of a 1000?

Stereolab is cool.  ‘Dots and Loops’, and such.

Great headliners. I might actually go to this if I lived anywhere near it.

imagining seeing Pusha T and Belle & Sebastian on the same day is incredibly funny to me

Seeing just Robyn is worth the ticket price.  I saw her at Pitchfork fest about 10 years ago, and she was the unexpected highlight for me.  She’s a true pro and worked her ass off to try and pump up a crowd of sweaty white guys in 95 degree weather.  She was the only performer that appeared to be having fun that weekend.
