In the festival sleeper Safety Not Guaranteed, Aubrey Plaza plays an Aubrey Plaza-esque reporter who finds her Aubrey Plaza-ness challenged while investigating a man who claims he's looking for a time-travel partner—a man who would be immediately dismissed as a raving lunatic were he not played with charming doofishness by Mark Duplass. But while it boasts an admittedly zany high concept, Safety is also a film filled with quieter, down-to-earth moments like the one above, in which Plaza has a Clerks-evoking chat with her co-workers (New Girl's Jake Johnson and newcomer Karan Soni) about lasers and Stormtroopers. It's a brief clip but hey, it's Aubrey Plaza sort-of talking about Star Wars.
