The next round of Saturday Night Live hosts and musical guests have been unveiled, and things are veering into a Marvel direction with Loki’s Jonathan Majors and Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’ Simu Liu as the upcoming hosts.

Majors, who previously earned an Emmy nomination for his role in the sci-fi series Lovecraft Country, will host on November 12. Majors is known for his performances in dramas such as The Last Black Man In San Fransisco and most recently the Western The Harder They Fall, so hosting SNL will give him a chance to flex his comedy muscles.

Taylor Swift will grace the stage as the night musical guest the day after the release of Red (Taylor’s Version) on November 12. This means we might end up hearing songs that were first released back in 2012, but just know that they are Taylor’s Version.

California rapper Saweetie will perform on November 20, with Kim’s Convenience actor Liu as host. While Swift’s performed on the show a hefty five times, the “Tap In” rapper will make her debut.

SNL also reaffirms Ed Sheeran’s status as this week’s musical performer as he’s been officially been cleared of COVID-19 and completed his quarantine period. All three of November’s hosts will make their SNL hosting debut, with Succession’s Emmy-nominated Kieran Culkin set to host on Saturday, November 6.

It should be noted Culkin previously made a guest appearance on the show when his slightly older brother Macaulay Culkin hosted in 1991. Kieran was 9 years old at the time, and played a character named Froggy in a “Richmeister” sketch. Hopefully he will return the favor and bring on Macaulay for a sketch or two.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC and live on Peacock on Saturdays at 11p.m. ET.

Weird, so far the only female host this year has been Kim K…..I mean, it’s a weird choice…Not like there aren’t a lot to pick from. I mean…Jean Smart, Kathryn Hahn, Elizabeth Oslen, Zendaya(she’s even got Dune!), Selena Gomez(she can bring Martin Short and Steve Martin in for a guest stint!)…I hope we see some of them come 2022..

Zendaya is in like 5 minutes of Dune. I know its half the book and I know her part in the second half is much bigger but its really weird they had her doing more press for it then most the cast when she is essentially a cameoEdit: I do agree that she could host SNL or any other woman really.  Hell aren’t like half the Eternals ladies?

      • kbroxmysox2-av says:

Oh, well they are really banking on her celebrity as I definitely thought she was like the second lead…And yeah Gemma Chan would’ve been a fun guest…or Salma Hayek….Still not counting it out just yet but yeah….it’s just been A LOT of dudes

That’s five minutes of real Zendaya. There are 20 minutes of fugue state via spice Zendaya

I was thinking Hannah Einbinder since I think no SNLer’s child has ever hosted.

Elizabeth Olsen has said she won’t host because of her nerves. Short has said this is actually what the three of them want to do, but SNL is heavily booked so they don’t know when it will happen. So far this season is shaping up like season 45, which had just one female host until December. I think either one or both December hosts this season will be women…of course, there’s a good chance one of them will be Addison Rae….

      • kbroxmysox2-av says:

God lord…if it’s Addison Rae when they have a Kathryn Hahn right there.

It actually wouldn’t be the first time Short and Martin have hosted with a third person; they did it with Chevy in 1986 because of Three Amigos.

        • peterjj4-av says:

Yeah, Short said in a recent interview he and Steve would more likely cameo and Selena would host. Still, they’d probably be like three hosts.

I would have expected Sarah Snook, but with Culkin lined up, I doubt it’s gonna happen now.

So the writers will have two weekends in a row to write skits around how hunky their Straight Man is?

    • loopychew-av says:

I don’t think I rate anything more than a Kinsey 2.5, but I wouldn’t mind if they performed most of their sketches shirtless.

      • dinoironbodya-av says:

I’d never heard of the Kinsey scale half an hour ago and this is the second reference to it I’ve encountered since then.

While Swift’s performed on the show a hefty five times Is there a Five Timer’s Club for musicians, or is that just a hosting thing?

  • peterjj4-av says:

These are the types of hosts I think have the most potential as they aren’t coming in with huge expectations, yet they also aren’t seen as being so out of their depth that managing to deliver lines is seen as a feat. Simu in particular I could see being a lot of fun, if the show makes the effort. Majors was very charismatic and a standout on Loki.I’m surprised no one from Eternals hosted, but at least they have managed to find some fresh MCU faces. (I know both guys are known for many other projects)
