Logan has been having a moderately successful awards season—it was nominated for a handful of Critics’ Choice Awards and a Writers Guild Of America Award for adapted screenplay, and was named one of the 10 best films of 2017 by the National Board Of Review. The Academy Award nominations are announced on January 23, and Sir Patrick Stewart would love to keep the nomination train going for Logan. The actor, who has never been nominated for an Oscar, has been getting a fair amount of consideration for his portrayal of Professor Xavier.
