Welp, Guy Fieri did not end up snagging Ellen’s daytime television slot. As Ellen’s longtime show wraps up in its final season in 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will take over the current NBC show slot in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Currently, The Kelly Clarkson Show airs at 2 p.m., and will move up to the primetime 3 p.m. spot. Only in its second season, and recently renewed for two more, the Emmy winning syndicated series’ success is not lost on anyone.

“These are remarkable achievements for a talk show in its second season. We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres’ 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year. By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts,” says NBCUniversal Local President Valari Staab.

There’s no further information yet on if the show will move slots with other partners, but NBCUniversal says The Kelly Clarkson Show will move into “leading time periods” on its over 200 affiliate stations by 2022.

The inaugural American Idol winner and Grammy winner received her first Daytime Emmy last year for Best Entertainment Talk Show Host. The show also won for Outstanding Lighting Direction, and Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design. This year, The Kelly Clarkson Show swept nominations for the Daytime Emmys, garnering six for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host, Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show, Outstanding Original Song, Outstanding Lighting Direction, Outstanding Live And Direct-To-Tape Sound Mixing, and Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design.

Cheers to many more years of Kellyoke and total Kelly Clarkson domination, she deserves it.

Nothing against Kelly Clarkson, but I’ve watched various clips of her show and nothing stood out to me. Am I missing something… besides obviously not being the target market?

Have you tried/liked any of the Kellyoke clips? I’m not going to watch an entire hourlong talk show, but I usually watch them.

I was trying to find one of the clips I watched recently with Jim Carrey, and came across this… I’m sold. Kung Fury is my jam and I doubt I’d see this on any other show.

Not everything is for everyone. Her show isn’t for me and that’s fine.

If you generally dislike daytime TV, then no it’s probably not for you. But I would say it’s the singing that gives it the extra oomph.

I mean, if I’m waiting in the dentist’s office anyway, I’ll take her over the View, which makes me look forward to the unpleasantness to come at the dentist.

I can’t keep my American Idol people straight, but I thought I heard Kelly Clarkson is a total raging uh, mean person like Ellen, but it’s very possible I’m mixing her up with like Carrie Underwood or something.-d

Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol winner. Beyond her own singing talent, people fell in love with her for being a down-to-earth person.

She is the star of “From Justin to Kelly!” which starred her and the Runner up from Idol S1. Since U Been Gone is kind of a pop-punky mid-2000s jam that is catchy as hell.

Did you HEAR what Carrie Underwood did to her ex’s CAR!?

  • shotmyheartandiwishiwasntok-av says:

I mean, that’s the obvious move, but unless Kelly is expanding her show to two hours, it still leaves a hole in the lineup.

Remember all those people in 2002 that were like, “she’ll be back to waitressing in 6 months.” I want her to find them and interview them on her show.

  • dpc61820-av says:

Why would Ellen be sorry about this news? Does she lose anything by this particular show filling her slot after she leaves it vs. a different show? It’s not like Ellen is being bumped out early. The headline makes no sense (especially the first, extremely important, word). Did the person who wrote it read the article?

I can breathe, for the first time.
