Star Wars VII will take place 30 years after Return Of The Jedi

Aux Features Film

There’s still no word on casting or an official title, but Disney and Lucasfilm announced this week that the film will start shooting this upcoming May, and that the events of the film will take place 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI, Return Of The Jedi.

In addition, the press release offered this tantalizing bit of vague information: that the film will star “a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.”

No word yet on how any of this ties into the extended universe.
